Paper Sun and Breezer

Tonight it seemed it was an intrusion in a school party. Everyone seemed to know everyone else, and it was like an evening out for teenagers, mainly blokes, aged 16-18. Therefore it was no surprise that by the end of the evening there was spilt beer everywhere and very drunk blokes dancing around.

This weekend's couple of gigs were organised by Trev of Breezer and tonight his band were first on. Their sound has definately improved and matured since their first demo, however they still seem to enjoy those instrumentals in the middle of the songs a bit too much. They definately have their own sound, very keyboard lead, but they only seem to have this one sound. Although they do not yet have a song that stands out, they were still quite enjoyable, even though they did not get the crowd going with excitement.

Headlining tonight were Paper Sun. They seemed to have more of a stage presence than Breezer and were quite different. One of the more memorable songs sounded like Radiohead, of the Pablo Honey era, but they were not like other Radiohead influenced bands. They played a mixture of fast and slow songs, but the slow songs ended up quite fast too. They also had the tendency to mix fast, loud bits and slower, quieter bits in the same song. The band had a very tight sound. They also handled the audience much better, and the punters reacted to the band more.
